Remember
Haruna Aliyu the driver of the ambulance attached to the Office of the
Inspector-General of police who is currently serving terms of
imprisonment in Bauchi prison.
Haruna Aliyu was apprehended in Bauchi, along with his accomplice for using the ambulance to traffic in Indian hemp.
He was apprehended by officers of the National Drug Law enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and prosecuted.

This
underscores the prevalent practice whereby some people attached to some
high profile persons abuse such privileges to commit criminal offenses
without the knowledge of their principals.
Can
we now say the IGP is involved in such illegal business because the
driver appointed to his office ambulance is the chief perpetrator.
The most plausive answer should be No.
It
is the view of the writer that the three arms of government should take
a critical look at issues like this before it gets out of hand.
