THE RISING PROFILE OF DR. OYEBANJI FILANI...THE NEW COMMISSIONER OF HEALTH IN EKITI STATE -goBIGnews

 

Dr. Oyebanji Filani has been appointed and sworn in as the Honourable Commissioner for Health in Ekiti State by his Excellency, the Executive Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

 

He is a graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos and he also has a MSc in Health Economics & Health policy from the University of Birmingham.

 

He was recently, Technical Director & Team Lead at the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund, a creation of the new National Health Act in Nigeria which aims to substantially increase revenue and improve Primary Health Care services all over the country.

 

He was also a Technical Advisor to the Federal Minister of Health from December 2015 – May 2019.

 

He was the Team Lead of the Health Financing Dept. of the Health Strategy and Delivery Foundation for 3 years and also a Consultant at Health Economics Consulting in the U.K for 2 years.

 

Dr. Filani has stated that one of his biggest priorities is to strengthen the capacity of primary health centres in Ekiti to provide basic health services to the good people of Ekiti State.

 

He is also committed to up scaling human resource for health, maintaining steady supply chain for drugs & consumables, ensuring data availability & other inputs for increased access to quality health care.
